VGoRecordings presents guitarists Ricardo Peixoto and
Carlos Oliveira, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church,
1600 Santa Lucia Ave, San Bruno. $10
Ricardo Peixoto and Carlos Oliveira are among the top
representatives of Brazilian guitar in the US today.
They are also accomplished composers and arrangers
and have collaborated in many musical projects for
over two decades. Their performances explore their
countrys rich and diverse traditions, both in their
original work and in their arrangements of Brazilian
classics, while also allowing for spontaneous
interaction with each other and the music in the
moment. Their approach is grounded both in the jazz
and Brazilian music traditions, but always ventures
well beyond their borders, combining rich melodies,
unusual harmonies, and the unmistakable rhythms of
Brazil.
